Why become a health coach?

Across the industry, healthcare reform is top priority. With the demand for better care at lower costs and an ever-increasing emphasis on preventive care, behavior change and relationship-centered care has become central to the conversation.

Aside from acute care, the bulk of primary care today is in motivating patients to adopt healthy behaviors such as weight management, the cessation of smoking, regular exercise, and adherence to medications. Health and wellness coaches have proven themselves invaluable to this process due to their ability to engage clients and patients in acquiring the skills, confidence and motivation necessary to participate in their own care. Coaches create trusting and dynamic partnerships that support client self-efficacy while co-creating goals that are tailored to the clients unique environment and individual needs.
